Project Positivity Journal Day 13: All we need is a little Patience, yeah... yeah.
Introduction: The level in which today tested my patience was not on my February Bingo card and well beyond what I woke up ready to tolerate, even for a Monday.
I decided on my positive phrase early today, while drinking my coffee, which is unusual for me, since it often comes later in the day or as a means to cope with whatever I’ve gone through, but not today. Today, I received the download within an hour upon waking… and I should have taken it as a sign of what was to come.
Instead, I happily wrote it down in my journal and then watched a Ted Talk about patience being a superpower while I finished my breakfast and morning routine.
To be honest, I’ve been thinking about patience for a few days now, and have thought about using it as my journal phrase at lease three times but decided against it… and I’m not sure exactly what prompted it today, but strangely enough, my day proceeded to test my patience in every way it could…
Right down to the slip and fall I had this evening while carrying no less than 10 items in my hands and clutched under my arms. Sure, 4 of those items might have been mini dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joes, but the rest included, but was not limited to, my laptop, my phone, my journal, my pen, my water bottle and my charger. What should have been an innocuous trip from the kitchen where I filled the tea kettle and grabbed the 4 peanut butter cups I mentioned and then simply walked through the 10 feet of space that is my dining room which connects to my office, a journey I make about 100 times a day, turned into a near death experience… but let’s start from the beginning:
