Weekly Wrap Up /1/ The Beginning of March

I completely forgot the Oscars were on yesterday until my neighbor, Beth, texted me asking if I wanted any soup she had just made and that the soup was ready just in time for the Academy Awards.
SHIT, I thought, the awards are on?
I used to care about watching ALL of the award shows, mostly for the fun Hollywood gossip and also to see what everyone was wearing, but I guess I just don’t care anymore.
Beth, my neighbor, sent me home with two round glass containers full of her latest soup, to which I carried back home IN A BAG since last week they spilled out a bit and stained my white Dogwood sweatshirt, a happenstance I took as a sign, along with my dogwood flower keychain breaking earlier in the week.
The beginning of March has not been optimal, I can tell you that, and I’m only smiling above to keep from crying.
Anyway, I put my soup away and grabbed my jacket and headed out for my afternoon walk, later than usual, given Daylight Savings (thank GOD it’s almost SPRING) although did winter even happen?
And then, after returning home, instead of searching for a live option in which to watch the award show, I forgot again, opened a new book I picked up at the library, tried to meditate, but ended up on Instagram and texting with friends while cuddling Trevor in my arm as he slept off whatever injury he’s been in pain from since last Thursday.
The video is actually from Friday night though, after dinner and dancing with the girls, a night out I truly needed. It was the first time I had actually had fun at Dogwood in maybe a year.
